So where are you guys going to choose to dorm? College Avenue, Livingston, Cook, or Busch. Also, could any current students provide some information on the difference between these New Brunswick campuses.

I want to dorm on College Ave in their honors housing. It's in the middle of everything haha I like it better that way

here's the differences between all the campuses.

coll ave- this is where your social life is at. all the parties on the weekend are on coll ave. its the most convenient if you like to go out.

busch- busch has bigger dorms than coll ave, but is really big a spread out and it really only pays to live there if your an engineering major or some other type of science. u do have the stadium close by do on gamedays and a better dining hall than coll ave.

livingston- real spread out, nothng much to do there. rac is there, convenient if u plan on goin to bball games

cook/douglass- far away from everything else. has the best dining hall

I chose College Avenue basically for the same reason that "viva la dana" stated.

I believed I ranked my choice of housing as 1: College Avenue, 2:Livingston, and 3:Busch. I hope I get to live on the College Avenue campus.

Busch has a lot more like suites doesn't it? The only places I kind of don't want to live on are Douglass just cuz its all women and then there's Livingston which if I remember was reallly like empty looking.

What is the dorm quality difference between College ave. and Busch? Are the Busch dorms "cleaner," and do you have to share a common bathroom with the rest of the hall at College ave? I know Busch has an appartment style setup where there are 3 bedrooms (2 people in each) and a living area and bathroom for each room (so only 6 people share a bathroom).

First off honors housing is best on Busch because you are offered the McCormick Suites (the only suites for freshman, and its honors only). Freshman are not allowed in suites unless they are in honors and they must apply to McCormick. Busch also has the biggest freshman dorms. They are cleaner and better maintained when compared with College Ave. All freshman dorms besides the McCormick honors suites, are doubles and the whole floor shares a bathroom (technically two, one male;one female). The Busch suites are what jlrnewjersew is referring too, not the apartments. The apartments are 4 people each (2 rooms which are doubles, lounge, bathroom, kitchen) but like the non-honors suites they are for UPPER classmen only.

viva la dana- Douglass is not all women any longer, its now a co-ed campus. Although Livingston is pretty much the worse of all the campuses. Livingston has the advantage of being the only campus freshman can have there cars though. Thats right, in state students are not allowed cars freshman year unless they live on Livingston.

Also its not true about engineers and science majors wanting to live on Busch, the upperclassmen suites/apartments are the most sought after housing at Rutgers.

If anyone else has questions about housing let me know.

Thanks...I am in the honors program so my big decision is nicer dorms (Busch/suites) or beter social setup. With either choice I get one perk but give up another. Any suggestions?

Believe me getting on the bus to go to College Ave is no big deal. You will still meet tons of people on any campus, getting into parties is the same whether you live on Busch or College Ave.

Thanks for the info...i am leaning towards college ave but it depends on the housing quality difference when I see it (hopefully on Monday at the honors scholars day). I think the busch campus will have much better housing and I dont want to share a b.room witrh the entire floor

Hey guys,
I'm a transfer, I literally just got accepted two days ago. I'd really like to live at college ave but honestly, what are my chances of getting a room there?

Get your housing applications in ASAP. Word to the wise......
