I’m having trouble figuring out which dorms to put as my preference for the housing contract, or if the preferences will even have a big impact on where I’ll end up. I would like a traditional hall-style dorm with ac, if that’s possible. It seems clear to me that new hall west is the nicest/best option, but I also would think it’d be unlikely that I’d get that dorm, and beyond that, many other dorms sound nice, but on Tech’s website it says they’re “home to” a residential college. Does this mean these dorms are only available for members of these colleges? If so, I wouldn’t think everyone would be able to select those dorms as preferences on the contract, but I clearly don’t have much insight into this process. If anyone here does, I’d appreciate if you shared.
