What’s a super double and is it worth the extra price?

I believe a super double is a dorm room built for four, but occupied by two- so you would have extra closet and possibly desk space, and only one roommate.

This is a pretty great option, and I think the extra space is worth the extra money, but freshmen typically don’t have a great chance of being assigned a super double. Generally older students have preference, so freshmen don’t always get their first choice in rooms/ dorms, and are often in quads.

My daughter is in a super-double with just one roommate in Taylor Tower this year. She is a freshman, although technically she started as a sophomore due to AP credit and classes she took at OSU while still in high school (so I don’t know how that impacted her housing assignment for this year). Her room is exactly the same size and layout as the room across the hall that holds four people. She’s very happy with the room (and has in fact been tentatively assigned the same room for next year), so for her it was worth the extra money.
