Dorms

Does anyone know what the best dorms are? From what I've heard, Harbin is the best overall, Village C is pretty good because you get your own bathrooms, and New South - while it is kind of crappy - is the most social dorm. Also, does anyone know if you can request to be hallmates with someone? Thanks.

Ther are many posts regrading dorms, where there is quite a good explanation, just look through the posts. You can request to be roomates w/someone... but not hallmates. Unless you request a special interest floor (i.e. Living Well, Culture and Performance, etc.), in that case you will, if not it would be very hard.

I took a dorm tour this weekend, and New South is definitely the nicest now, because they just renovated it last summer. Harbin's rooms seemed a little bigger, and they had kitchens in the common rooms. Village C wasn't that nice, but having the bathrooms would be cool. There are also rumors that they are renovating Village C over the summer. All of the dorms have their pros and cons, and wherever you live, people there tend to think that their dorm is the best.

I took a tour over the weekend and I thought that New South looked the best. It was a decent size and it was just renovated. THe only bad thing was that the one closet they provide for two people is tiny. Harbin was nice too-slightly bigger room and better closets. Village C I though was the worst, because the rooms were tiny and face it: do you really want to have to deal with cleaning that bathroom?
