Dorms!

hey!

so i was wondering if we’d like to purchase our own mattress and desk chair we dont have to keep the ones we would have to use otherwise, right?

thanks.

You could do that, but I don't recommend it. You will have to find a place to store the mattress and desk chair that come with your room, because that stuff stays with the room year-to-year.

ahh. okay.

thanks!

hopefully i can find a cushion for the chair and a great mattress pad...

My room mate and I both bought better chairs for our desk because the dorm chairs were terrible, and we ended up using the extra chairs for guests that came into our room.

I would not recommend a mattress just because that would take up a huge amount of space that you don't really get.

are the rooms in tercero bigger than segundo?
cus the room(tercero south-kearney) i stayed at during orientation was bigger than the segundo(segundo north and bixy) dorms that i visited on admit day

really??

i was told the new tercero was the same size as segundo...

maybe terceros are suppose to be triples??

The new Tercero and new Segundo buildings are approximately the same size. The older Segundo/Tercero rooms are smaller than the new Segundo/Tercero rooms.

Investing in a mattress pad is very well worth it. :)

maybe it's cus the room was pretty empty during orientation
so it looked more spacious

yeah, it'll fill up real quick, you'll be surprised. I actually work for student housing in the tercero maintenance division and while we do have places to store the matresses, most likely you wouldn't be able to put it there, cause you can't get into the locked storage. Get a mattress pad, the beds are hard on the knees.
If you want to get a new chair, go for it, you can put the old one in your closet on the shelf, or under the bed
