Dorms

What are the pros and cons of central, hill, and north campus and the dorms in them? What do you guys recommend? Thanks!

Dropped D off at Mo-Jo--the renovated dorms are really nice! The air conditioning in the rooms was really welcoming especially since we moved in on a hot day!! D loves the wireless in the room. The new dining center is scheduled to open this week but from what we saw--this looked first class. They kept all the old woodwork--the lounge areas look more like a hotel lounge area and not a dorm area. We will see how the walk is once classes start but D can walk from Mo-Jo to South in approx 20 mins.

Go to North if you're doing Engineering / Art / Architecture.

Go to Central or Hill otherwise.

What about social life and dating in the dorms?

What about it? These are very vague questions. If you have any questions about Markley (Hill), I can do my best to answer those -- although I'm a freshman.

I heard Markley is a good freshman dorm. Are the dorms in Markley nice? What food is offered? Do you recommend a coed floor or an all female or male floor?

Good god no. Markley is good in the sense that there's over 1000 freshmen in it, so you're bound to make friends and have fun. Not surprisingly, it's the worst dorm in terms of room size, age, etc... This is where the famous 10x12 doubles are.

Yea, the dorms are not great. I'm in one of those dreaded doubles. To be honest, though, it's not THAT bad. At least my dorm is lofted.

I don't know if Markley has coed floors.
