Double deposit for transfers?

The discussion for freshman admissions has said this is grounds for getting your admissions rescinded. What about for transfers where the notification dates are more spread out, and it is simply a matter of not knowing where you have been accepted yet? For example, Vanderbilt notifies april 15, a full month before I even hear from any of my other schools. Are colleges as adamantly opposed to double depositing in this situation, or will they generally grant extensions for transfers in situations like this?

I deposited at WashU early, like many others, and may not attend. Just be sure to notify the school immediately if you are accepted to and decide to enroll at another university.

haha I think I should've applied to washu... so I could force brown to send me my letter earlier XD

There is no way I would attend WashU and pay that much more $$$ if I had Berkeley in-state. ;)

@ brand_182

What schools have you been accepted to as of yet? Just curious. Besides WashU.

That's it. I'm waiting on McGill, which should be telling me pretty soon, and UT should be mid-April to mid-May. Wes and NYU take a long time so I choose not to think about them.

i thought you had to reply back witihin two weeks from decision date for WUSTL..
what if you didn't get any decision letters from other schools yet?

from what i know of brand_182, you have been accepted to WUSTL some time ago..
aren't you supposed to reply back pretty soon?
how can you wait till mid-april?? i'm a bit confused...

lucky chance -

you can enroll by depositing a $200 non-refundable deposit. As of now, I am getting things set up with my advisor, receiving a school ID, etc. as if I were definitely going to attend the school in the fall, but I can submit a letter informing WashU that I will not be attending in the fall if I want to. Nothing is set in stone until I've forked out thousands for tuition; until then I can wait on Wesleyan and make my final decision in may.
