Double deposit

I did something really bad. I put down one deposit to Michigan and the other to USC. I couldn’t decide on may 1st and I still can’t. Will these colleges ever know what I did?

Maybe they will. Pick a college immediately….and get this done. Then decline the second admission.

And adhere to deadlines in the future.

but I can’t decide. how will they ever know?

im sorry

When your high school has to send final transcripts to TWO schools, that’s when they will know, and that’s when you will have both offers rescinded. It is likely your guidance counselor will be obligated to inform them because he/she knows you can’t double deposit. Do it now.

You did mean for it to happen because you knew you were double depositing. Make a decision.

I didnt mean for this to happen.

Your high school will have to send a final transcript to one school.

yes I know that but I told my guidance counselor I was attending Michigan. She doesn’t know I accepted it for USC.

im so sorry

Looks like you’re going to Michigan.

If your counselor doesn’t send transcripts to USC, and USC thinks you are attending, then you are going to find that things are suddenly a big problem. Your counselor will be obligated to do something, because your counselor doesn’t want to sacrifice his or her job because you were dishonest.

what if I tell her in 2 weeks that I got of the waitlist for USC?

What? I’m explaining to you why this is a problem and why you have to do something about it.

will USC contact my school if I don’t send transcripts?

I’m having big financial and personal issues that’s why I did what I did

Getting off the waitlist is a completely different circumstance. If you decided to accept an offer after being accepted off the waitlist, then you deposit at the waitlist school and immediately notify the first school you will not be attending.

Yes, because they are expecting you to enroll because you paid the deposit and said you would.

I already said USC will contact your school for transcripts. They believe you will attend.

Look, this really doesn’t have to be a big problem. Tell the counselor you made a mistake and you’re going to USC. Just be honest and this won’t be a problem anymore.

Are you waiting for a FA package from either school? What is creating the issue in deciding?
