Double Major/Dual Degree

<p>Does Stanford offer dual degrees (two separate bachelor's degrees) or only double majors (one degree, two majors/area of concentration)?</p>

<p>I believe Stanford does both, of course each holds it’s own criteria</p>

<p>It is possible to do either. However, a dual degree requires a lot more coursework. For a double major, you still have to do the standard 180 units of coursework, and just satisfy the requirements of both majors (except you can’t double-count classes for the most part). For a dual degree, you have to get something like 210 units, maybe more.</p>

<p>Does double major mean you only get one degree? What if it’s in very different fields?</p>

<p>Yes, I’m pretty sure with a double major you only get one degree; it just has two concentrations on it. I think there are some departments offer only a BS or only a BA. If you major in one BS-only field and one BA-only field, I don’t know what they do.</p>
