Double Major question.

I'm currently an Econ student at UT and I've read the guidelines on double majoring, but I'm still somewhat confused on the stipulations.

If I want to add Math as my second major, I see that the requirement means I have to fulfill "all degree requirements" of the second major as well. Where I am confused is my core curriculum, particularly the natural science requirements. Do I have to take the true science courses if I intend to double major? Or since my degree will still be Liberal Arts with a double major, can I take the science for non-science majors?

Thanks for any help.

You need to take the science for science majors to fulfill the Natural Sciences requirement for Mathematics. Doing so will satisfy the core requirements for both Liberal Arts and Natural Sciences.

Definitely is not what I wanted to hear as I am in the non-science major classes right now.

Thank you very much for your help!

Hi, I got in to UTaustin for Economics at CoLA can I do a double major with BBA in finance at McCombs?

abdysf95–Economics majors are eligible to minor in accounting or finance. Here is the info regarding criterion for doing so:[UT College of Liberal Arts](<a href=“Economics | Liberal Arts | UT - Austin”>Economics | Liberal Arts | UT - Austin)

If you want to actually dual major in Finance and Economics, you will have to be admitted into McCombs as an internal transfer. Here is the info for that:[Internal Transfer: Changing Majors | McCombs Business School](http://www.mccombs.utexas.edu/BBA/Prospective/Admission/Internal-Transfer.aspx)
