I'm going to UVA for accounting. I'm also thinking of double majoring in either information technology or finance. Which one do you think is a better major in terms of future job market and association with accounting? I plan to get an MBA after undergrad and some work experience too.

I’d say given UVA’s reputation give finance a shot. if it were a lesser school i’d have said MIS or IT.

Both are a pretty boss combo with accounting, I’d say it depends on what you want to do. If you want to do more accounting, I’d actually say MIS and the like are great since you can become an IT auditor and since you have to be an excel wiz. For banking/finance, finance is a good choice, although, if you can hack it, I’d take more quant/CS classes.

Congrats on UVA though…great school!

I’d throw in a few minors, such as econ, math, and Physics.
