I am interested in both Comp Sci and Economics so would a double major be beneficial? Also is it worth it, or should I just stick with CS right now?
Double majoring for comp sci can be awesome. The thing is you have a requirement of four 300 level or above courses in the same discipline that is NOT com sci. So by the time you deal with the pre reqs to get those 300 levels, you almost have at least a minor. You’re stuck for seven semesters in the Comp Sci major anyway unless you take summer classes or you place out. So find what you love and go for it. My kid is double majoring in comp sci and linguistics, something he really got interested in and that has some interesting relationships. Because he already had most of his gen eds done in community college (he went as a high school student) he didn’t have a ton to finish and then really was stuck for classes he could do, so hence the double major. You should at least go for the econ minor if you’re interested in it.
Meh, why not? Double majoring takes effort, but it isn’t too hard.
