Hi, I was recently admitted EDI to Vanderbilt to the school of arts and sciences. I would like to double major in Econ and HOD, but HOD is in Peabody. Can I double major across schools if I was accepted into one?

Yes you can, double majoring across schools is very common. Econ and HOD is a very popular combo. Each school has their own version of the liberal arts core-- you only have to fulfill the core of one school. I believe most students do AXLE (the A&S core) but you may be able to do Peabody’s. They are fairly similar anyway.

Once you’re assigned an academic adviser, make sure to tell them your plan and they’ll hopefully help you figure it out.

I’m not certain about HOD/Cog Studies/Child Development, but I know that if you are majoring in Education in Peabody and something in A&S, you have to use the Peabody Liberal Core (this relates to licensure requirements). Double Majoring across schools is pretty easy; you won’t be able to declare your A&S major until sophomore year, though, and there is extra paperwork beyond the major declaration form–Peabody has an extra thing to complete to add a second major. Like Pancaked said, your advisor will help you figure it out.
