Hi guys,

So I am planning to double major in polysci and history. PS is my primary major, and I've already declared that and completed the prereqs and two upper division classes. For history I just completed all the lower division prereqs (1B & 1C, 97C, three electives) and I want to start on upper division courses in the fall.

For the history side of things, my understanding is that I can't even declare that as a double major until I've completed two upper division classes for both history and PS in addition to the prereqs. So, my question is, is it possible to enroll in history courses first pass if I've completed all the prereqs but are not declared as pre-history? Or if not, are there any gimmicks I can use (emailing professors, etc.) to do so? I really don't want to wait for second pass and be forced into taking mediocre classes.

Thanks!

As long as the courses don’t have restricted enrollment for “majors only” during the first pass you may be able to find a class or two that you can enroll in. One example in the history department is History 127C . Not sure if the link will load, but here’s the info on the class.
History 119A is a class you wouldn’t be able to enroll in during first pass. Look at the info on the class. It states: "Enrollment Restrictions:
