Hi, I’m applying ED to Brown but I’m worried about whether my GPA will hurt me. My freshmen year, I got a 3.96 with only one A-in honors math. Then, my sophomore year, I got two B+s in honors chemistry and honors math and one A- in honors French III. Finally, my junior year, I ended up with a B in honors pre-calc, an A- in IB History, and a B+ in honors physics.

My overall GPA is still a 3.81 thanks to my freshmen year but it’s been a huge jump down from freshmen to sophomore year and a slight fall to junior year. It has hurt me especially because math and science have always been my weakest subjects but they’re weighted more heavily than the humanities, which I’m much better at. My weakness in math is also reflected on my SATs (720M) and Math IIC score (760). I am, however, taking AP Calc AB this year.

I guess my question is, will this significantly reduce my chances at admission?
If it helps any, I’m an intended studio art major.
