Dressing Young (Part 2)

I think a black “vegan leather” tank might look good, too.

For the holidays, maybe red?

This has probably been asked before, maybe even by me…
What jeans are “in” or “out” these days?

I think the trendiest is the bootcut/flared that is slim (snug) through the thigh. But skinny’s are still worn. The ones I’m sort of hesitant to wear now are my distressed ones. Longer cropped wide legs are in, too.

I have wide leg full length and wide leg cropped. Both are on trend. I also wear bootcut and skinnies.

I love this era where everything goes!

Just ordered cropped bootcuts by Sportmax. :crossed_fingers::crossed_fingers:they fit.

I noticed a sea of YSL bags lately.

I’ve never followed fashion trends too closely. But now that I am becoming more “green” (trying to minimize waste in clothing and elsewhere), I think the best pair of jeans is the one that is comfortable and suits the figure. Admittedly I do change up my tops more, though some are from thrift shops. Of course I do have (and buy) way too many shoes.

I really like these jeans and will try some when we return from Europe. I have all kinds of skinny jeans, mostly Paige and Joe’s as theirs are well made and I feel they flatter my slightly curvy shape. I don’t wear distressed any longer, but have dark washed, light washed, cropped, etc.

I do feel quite stylish here in Lisbon with my jeans and a cute top finished off with one of the cute blazers I brought. My Taos white leather sneakers are cute and have been extremely comfortable while walking 15k to over 20k steps some days.

They are stupid pricey and the sizing is all over the place. But my Mother jeans are as comfortable as leggings. They are my magic jeans.

I haven’t felt like wearing skinny jeans this year. Although once I have to wear snow boots every day, I’ll probably change my mind :unamused:

I like a straight leg or crop flare myself. The wide legs I’m finding difficult because I’m short. But it might be that my mind is not used to the look.

Full length jeans are a trend this year.

@showmom858, thanks for the tip about blazers. Going to Europe in 3 weeks, will bring my blazer.

Conmama- can I ask what blogger that is (with the super cute jeans, above)? Like the style!

Not the same one pictured above, but I follow this blogger. I like that she is similar age to me and is similar in size/body shape to me. She is a couple of inches taller than I am, (she is 5’5") so that does make a bit of difference in how pants look on her vs me.

Here is a direct link to a post she did on trending jeans styles this fall: Denim Trends for Fall 2023

I was rummaging thru my dresser and pulled out several pairs of old jeans. I still have some boot cut pants, some that I loved, but they are too low waisted now. I prefer a mid rise.

I look ridiculous in wide leg jeans - they just are not a flattering fit on someone like me who is short and curvy. I’m glad that there are several styles “trending” so that I can still look stylish but in a cut that flatters my figure. I just went jeans shopping last week and the hardest part is finding petites. I just bought a pair of “baby boot cut” that arrived yesterday and they look nice on me but I need to get some boots with a higher heel so they fall correctly.

The ones I listed come in “short” length. I totally agree it’s nice to see several styles. With fall, skinnies are need for knee high boots. Plus, I’m in the Midwest, so all trends may take awhile to catch up. People are still wearing skinny. I purchased a pair of longer wide cropped jeans ladt spring I haven’t worn yet from Express. I’m looking forward to wearing them, but I’m 5’8” and with heels;boots they look even better

I saw something yesterday that suggested flared pants and jeans (I assume with heels) to look taller. Can’t picture that looking good on my short body, but someday maybe I may give it a try.

I’m pretty sure the baggie jeans I wear that used to belong to my son, don’t qualify. I love them because their pockets are big enough for a phone.

The wide leg crop pants may be height specific. I’m 5’9" and they’re very flattering.

I like this fashion advice

“I think the best course of action is for us to not apologize for our choices. … Just own it,” Tanenbaum said. “This is who I am. This is what I decided to put on this morning. This is what I look like. Deal with it.”
