Driving a motorcycle to school

I'm thinking about getting a motorcycle, but what do you think people would think of this? (I'm a guy), and do you think people would think that as weird (girls..?).

I’m a girl and I’m terrified at motorcycles… They seem so dangerous…
I wouldn’t have any problem to take a ride home with a friend in his car, but I wouldn’t go up on a moto eve if I was payed for it…
But hey, that’s just me…

Dude…motorcycles are a chick magnet. Dont you look at utube vids? And the cool dudes that go to the bars ride ninja bikes. I wouldnt get a harley, they are for old dudes, but a ninja would rock. You could also get to school faster and if there is traffic you can just split lanes. The only problem is when it rains or snows and if you have to take a project or alot of books into school you might need your parents to help you there. And you wouldnt have to buy alot of gas. When i can drive i want a bike, but my mom wont let me get one i bet. You are lucky if your parents are cool enough to let you have one.

There’s a funny utube vid of a dude doing a wheelie and his chick fell off the back going like 100! I bet he felt stupid!

Yeah, I would get rides on rainy days, and when it snowed it would be delayed anyway.

What do CC’er’s think, do the benefits outweigh the problems?

and yeah my parents are chill enough

that seems really odd

the real question is, are you cool enough for a motorcycle?

^ Yeah lol, if you’re a typical CCer, please don’t

toooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooool.

^ WHY? there’s nothing toolish about it

I feel neutral. There’s this one kid that rides a motorcycle to school around here some mornings–nothing to say about that except I still don’t know who he is since he wears a helmet (if that answers your ‘what people would think’ question), and that the sound of a motorcycle speeding by you with the car window open is ear-splittingly LOUD.
Keeping in mind that motorcycles are more prone to accidents than cars, get one if you wish. You’ll also have to go through extra tests to get a permit to drive one, in addition to a regular driving permit.

Buy the best car for the money you have budgeted for transportation.
Not worth the risk of collisions, slick roads, debris on the road, idiot drivers…
Car vs. You on motorcycle
Car wins.

I ride a bike during the summer, and a car during the winter. It saves you from taking people everywhere, gets better gas milegeage and I like it more. Trat it as a reason to go from point a to be and you are cool.

Motorcycles are cool but there is a threshold of cool you must have to pull it off. And if you are asking CC if it’s weird then I’m skeptical about you reaching that threshold…

It is not about cool. Can you ride? Can you afford insurance? Do you have the bike? go for it. We are all geeks to be ditting here on a Saturday night. If I wasn’t grounded maybe I wouldn’t be here at all.

why do people here like to mock themselves? if you a geek ur a geek, not because you use college confidential.

anyway i know there are SO many advantages to a motorcycle, worth the permit and FYI insurance is cheaper than having a car. what i’m asking is what people (who didn’t know me) think of a guy riding a bike to school

Ahaha, a girl at my school rides a motorcycle to school with her sister in the back.

I bet over in europe and china lots of people ride mopeds instead of cars and its no big deal. If I drove a ninja bike to school, id drive right up the sidewalk and park it right next to the door:)

There’s a kid that rides a motorcycle to school. Nobody talks to him.
