Dropping a class after Match?

I was matched with Pomona and I am thinking about dropping a Foreign Language class(Mandarin 3). I took it freshman and sophomore year, but skipped it in my junior year. I started Mandarin 3 in senior year but I didn't realize I had forgotten a lot in a year.

I am struggling to catch up two years of a language and learn new material, all in the same year. Honestly, I am not motivated to continue struggling to keep a C in the class, trying to learn while juggling 3 other AP classes.

If I drop it, I'll have 5 classes(does Journalism count as an academic class?) and I might become a teacher assistant. As finals are approaching, I really doubt I can pass the class with a C, which I am currently getting. When I received the Match scholarship, I was getting a B in Mandarin and a B in AP Calc BC, rest were As.

Opinions on what I should do?

I will contact the Dean of Admissions after finals and see where I am at that point.

Btw, my intended major is economics and math related, if that makes an impact.

It doesn’t make an impact. When you were matched, you should have received the email/phone number of the Pomona QB liaison. Call them and run your decision by them. Prepare a well-thought-out case in advance and you should be ok. Don’t drop a class prior to asking an AO, though.
