Dropping a Course After Being Offered Admission to UCs (UCI, UCSB)

Transfer Applicant
Major: Psychology
GPA: 3.71
I have already received admission offers from UCI and UCSB
I’m still waiting on UCLA, UCSD, and UCD.

I plan to drop my Calculus 1 class because I honestly do not think I can pass the class, and I would rather have a W than a low grade. I have never dropped a course and I don’t want this class to lower my GPA. I’m willing to retake this course upon transfer if necessary.
However, I still meet the minimum of 60 units for IGETC even after dropping the class, and I do have Statistics and other math courses to satisfy the minimum mathematics requirement. UCSB and UCI, as far as I know, doesn’t require completion of prereqs prior to transfer, but I’m still concerned that it’ll affect my admissions offer in any way.

I know it will most likely affect UCLA, but I’m unsure of the other campuses. UCI and UCSB are my top choices as of now, though.

Will dropping this class affect my admission offer? How do I contact these schools regarding this course change after the TAU application period has passed and I have already been offered admission?
Thank you!

Hi, I was also in your position. Basically, you update the TAU on your application; you can still do this by logging on. Also, email each admissions office. For UCSB, I called and was intructed to email admissions@sa.ucsb.edu and would be alerted about any extra information. They haven’t so far, and this was for their Math 8 which is not a requirement for admissions but eventually needed.

Anyways, I followed the same protocol for the other UC’s even though none of the majors required said class.
