Hey all. I'm seriously considering dropping my physics and math class. At this point I have Es in both of them, and I just can't concentrate on my work. Not only do I feel so far behind that I can't catch up, but I hate the subjects so much that I have absolutely no motivation to suck it up and try. If I drop a class at this point, colleges won't see the grades I have in them. But is dropping down to a lower-level math/physics class mid-year a cause for instant rejection at top tier schools?

It does look bad. Whether that keeps you out of top schools is the question. Dropping two classes, especially in the sciences, is probably not the best idea. Then again, an E/F is not going to do you much good either.

I would still be in a math and science course. Just on grade level, though, not AP/honors. I just hate them so much. I might be able to bring them up to Cs. Would that look any better than dropping them? I don't know. I want to put my time into classes I care about and not stress over this. I feel like I've lost scholarship opportunities and chances at my dream schools already - I wish I knew what to do so that I felt like I was working towards something, and I don't want to make a decision that will screw me over.
