Hi, I'm currently a rising senior and was seeking some advice regarding dropping an AP.

My current courses are:
AP Euro
AP English
AP Biology
Latin V
Calc.
Photography

I was wondering if I should drop AP Euro and maybe take an easier AP history (Gov. or art history). If I take AP Euro my average would be around 85, which is decent (I go to a very competitive boarding school so that places me about top 15% of my class); if I drop AP Euro and take a an easier AP history it would raise my overall average about two points. Seeing that I have already fulfilled my history requirement, I could drop history altogether and raise my average another 2 points or so. I'm mostly worried that if I take AP Euro I won't have enough time to continue varsity sports or re-earn my national ranking in fencing. At the same time I also want my course load to be rigorous (as long as I can maintain an honors average). As you can tell I'm waivering quite a bit, any advice is appreciated.

I'd say take an easier AP history, and continue with your sports if you have more time.

At my school AP Euro's a sophomore class. If I were to drop anything, it would be AP Bio, but if you're strong in science then I guess stick with it.

I took AP World sophmore year, but I have heard of AP Euro being a sophmore class. So far I've heard that AP English is easy, and AP Euro and AP Bio are hard. The teacher for AP Bio is easier than the AP Euro teacher and I took honors bio last year, so I think I'll stick with AP Bio. Thanks for the advice.

which colleges are you looking into?

As long as your still taking an AP, then go for it. An Ivy wont think "OMG HE TOOK EASY WORLD HISTORY OR GOVERMENT INSTEAD OF AP EUROPEAN HISTORY RAAAAGGHHHH!" If its still an AP you should be all set

It also varies from school to school. I have heard that Euro is easier than OSH and World, and Art History can be really tough. It depends who is teaching it and where your interests lie.
