I'm a junior currently taking AP Bio, AP Calc A/B, APUSH, and AP English Lang. I'm considering dropping AP English Language to regular English since AP at my school is INSANELY difficult. People who get Cs in the class usually end up with 5s on the exam. I'm pretty sure I can scrape by with a B-, but that will drop my unweighted GPA to a 3.89/3.9. How bad would it look to top colleges if I drop the class? It won't show on my transcript and I still plan on taking the AP English test. thanks in advance! :)

Wow, your school offers more AP’s than mine…but then again I come from a VERY small school…For our size though, we do have a decent amount…Anyway, I took AP Lang and Comp last year, and didn’t find the class challenging at ALL- sounds like your class is much more difficult. So I took the class, it was a breeze, didn’t study for the exam, and got a 4. So I think, especially if you think you’re a decent writer (I think I am) then taking the AP test without the class wouldn’t be too difficult. I’m not sure how it would look with an unweighted GPA drop of .01…I guess it would depend on where you’re applying…All I’m saying, is that if you think you’re a good writer, I don’t think you need the class to do well on the test.

Drop it like a bad habit.
