Dropping class after being admitted???

So far i have been accepted to ucr and ucsb, i am waiting to hear from ucla.
My problem is i am not doing so well in my calc 2 class, a pre- req for my business major.
My drop deadline is in may so I am sure i will hear from ucla by then, so my question is...
will dropping this class and getting a W effect my admission into UCSB?
Thank you.

About UCSB: If Cal 2 is a prereq for UCSB, then I’d suggest that you try your hardest to stay in the class and get at least a C. However, if biz is NOT an impacted major at UCSB (which I have no idea since I didn’t apply to UCSB), you’ll probably be fine with 1 missing prereq. Since you’re already accepted, I’d recommend you call and talk to an advisor at UCSB to see what they want.

About UCLA: Biz-econ is an impacted major at UCLA, unfortunately. If your 1st choice is UCLA, I’d strongly recommend you stay on track and get at least a C in Cal2, but even with a C, there’s no guarantee. I have a friend you applied to UCLA and was admitted last year. UCLA offered him admission but with condition: he had to get at least a B in all classes that he took in the last Spring semester at CC. Just so you know, by the end of Fall when he applied, he had a 4.0 GPA. As you can see, for UCLA, even if you get a C, they can still withdraw your admission (if you’re in my friend’s case)

Hope it helps, good luck with your classes and admission!
