I feel like I'm really falling behind in a non-ap calculus course and I'm afraid I will end up with lower than a C, so I would like to drop the course before it's too late.

If I already finished all my A-G credits, (i already completed 3 years of math), will this be okay?

On the freshman contract it does say that you must "Complete all senior-year courses as listed on your application."

I called admissions, and they said that as long as i met requiements "it should be okay" but didn't know for sure. I sent a message to uci msgboard counselor, and they just sent me an automated message saying they can't tell me if there's any consequences b/c they're evaluating 40,000 applicants or something dumb.

so, if I drop, is this going to cause a serious issue?

Call your college admissions office, and talk to your counselor as well. I think there are cases where you’re allowed to make up a failed course at a local community college.

Ok definitely tell them but don’t lose too much sleep 2 of my friends from High School that go to UCI had problems with second semester Calc.
One got a D in calc BC and he is still here.
the other dropped Calc AB and he is still here.
Try to talk to your counselor in person, over the phone or through myadmissions

This is in no way advice on what to do, just don’t stress out!

I emailed her and all she said was "I can not determine the impact of dropping
Calculus. You need to read your freshman contract
for provisional admissions. "

…

I called again actually, and the person said “Typically if it isn’t a required class it shouldn’t affect you, but we won’t be able to tell until mid july when we receive your transcript”

i think i am going to drop, but i’m still really worried.

accuracy - make sure dropping the class doesn’t affect your high school graduation requirements. Also, another option may be to make it up in summer school.
