Hey Everyone!
I am currently attending a large public university and I have realized that its not for me, so I am filling out an application to transfer to a small liberal arts college that I was accepted into during my senior year in high school ( I am currently a first year student in a school on the quarter system). My dilemma is my gpa. I took three courses my first quarter and received two A- grades and one C+ with a gpa of 3.23. As of now I am taking three courses, I'm doing well in two of those courses (I could possibly get A's or at least B's) however, I'm not doing well in calculus. I got a C on the midterm (worth 25%) with the curve, I have no clue how I'm doing on the quizzes (I have taken 5, and the TA claims that he "does not grade them" the quizzes are worth 15%, homework is 20% (I have 100% in this category) and the final (worth 40%) is in two days. I want to get my gpa up to at least a 3.4 which is possible without calculus. The deadline to drop calc with a transcript notation (it will say "Calculus... Dropped week 10) is tomorrow. The school that I want to transfer into requires at least a 3.0 gpa, but I want to remain competitive. Would it be worse to drop the course and take the notation, or take my chances and hope that I get at least a B in Calc?
