Dropping English Honors

I am currently a sophomore in high school, and I am taking 1 AP (APUSH) and 4 Honors Classes.
My English teacher, who is ridiculously difficult even for honors, is stressing the heck out of me, and I am considering dropping Honors English down to Academic.
I think my school's policy may be able to enroll me into AP Lang from Academic for Junior year, but I am not quite sure.
The main problem is, if I want to enter a good college i.e. Cornell, Columbia, NYU, etc, how much of a problem will dropping Honors English cause?
Anyone know about these things?

Dropping down to regular English could affect how you perform in AP English, Junior year, which will then start to affect your chances of entering a good college. I would say stick with it, or just move down and try and self-study some of the material friends/peers are learning in Honors.

Well, my teacher is already considered “extremely hard” for honors, and pushes her students to the limit, and my counselor also claims that she pushes students harder than the AP teachers, which is just ridiculous in my opinion.
I agree that dropping down to academic will affect how well I do in AP English, but at this rate, I might need to cut down on some extracurricular activities, and I am trying to avoid that.

try switching to a different teacher but same class?

Are you working hard enough?

Does your teacher allow you to turn in rough drafts of essays before they’re due? If yes, do you use this 2-3 times to edit your essay? If not, why not?

Have you asked for extra credit?

Have you studied all of the monotonous stuff (vocabulary and grammar) as diligently as you need to?

It might be that the teacher expects a lot… but if you do the work it really could help you out in the long run.
