Should I drop honors English?

I want to drop honors English 10 because of the immense amount of work my teacher gives me. I also have a B in the class which is unacceptable for me. I heard the teacher gives more homework than ap classes. However the teacher is really good and will make a better writer etc. I am interested in a STEM major and I'm already taking math analysis ap Bio ap world history and Spanish 4 honors. Should I drop it if I'm interested in competitive polytechnic school such as vt and gt and also uva? Thanks

I’m just going to leave this here…

Granted, doesn’t exactly apply in this case. First, a B might be unacceptable to you but it’s something you won’t be able to avoid in your life. Get over it. Second, if you drop honors English because the teacher is a harsh grader/assigns a lot of work, colleges are going to look at that (and I had kids in my class last year do the same) as you taking the easy way out. They know.

Thirdly, if your English teacher is going to make you into a great writer or help you realize your writing potential, you must be out of your mind to turn that down. I know a lot of people who whined and cried because our English teacher gave them C’s on all of their essays, but I also know people who took his advice and turned their grades around into A’s instead of moaning and groaning and finding a way to switch out.

You have some great points and I am most likely going to stick with it. I’ve never quit anything in my life especially in the middle of it. Thanks
