Dropping Language Senior Year

So I've fulfilled my foreign language requirements (3 years in my HS) and I'm now thinking about my courses for next year. I always hear that colleges don't like to see a dropped language senior year...but idk, there are more exciting classes that I could take next year.

Opinions?

Which language? I personally recommend not dropping the language, but that's because I like languages more than any school subject. But you are right. Ze colleges vould like to see you continue on viz your language studies.

I dropped language senior year and really, I thought it was the best choice I made. I always did well in Spanish but it wasn't like I was getting FLUENT though I could understand telenovelas. The thing is that now I"m taking an AP which fits the sorts of things I'm interested in...much more. If you're not a language person, drop it. You probably will have to take it in college anyways...

bump...am in similar predicament...what if i took a CC class instead so that i could do it on my own time

i dropped spanish my senior year.

worked out fine =]

i dropped it too...best decision ever.

I dropped it Junior year <_< but yeah I'm pretty happy with my decision.

Nooo! Don't!

But I'm a language person. I love my Spanish class; it's my favorite part of the day, and it always has been. I'd also pick up another language if my school had more than one.

I'm in this same predicament. I'm a junior in Spanish 4 and I realllly don't want to take Spanish 5. If I drop next year, will I be counted as having 4 years of a language (since I took spanish 1 in middle school) or 3?

I dropped it after 1st semester this (senior) year. So far, awesome decision like others have said. It was the only class i just dreaded going to cuz 1) i knew zero spanish (which is bad for Span 4 honors) and 2) it was boring as ****.

I have a similar question and figured I'd just post it here instead of making a whole new thread. I'm a Freshman and I'm taking Spanish 1 this year. I have 100% in the class and I feel pretty comfortable with Spanish. My question is, should I move on and take Spanish 2, 3, and then AP at school (which are each year long courses) or would it be a better idea to do Spanish 2 and 3 at my local community college where each course is a semester long and I could get two years done in one? If I did the CC courses I would come back to school and be in AP Spa. Lit/Lang (don't know which) in my Junior year and then be done with my language.

drop it like its hot

snoooooooooooooooooooooooop

I ing hate spanish. I *ing hate my *** teacher... DROP IT NOW!

There was girl at my school who didn't take French her senior year (she would have been in French IV, hadn't taken the AP), and she still got into Harvard.

so there is hope!
