Dropping Linear Algebra Second Semester

I’m a current high school senior and was accepted to Virginia Tech’s school of Engineering through regular decision. Linear algebra is a second semester course coupled with Matrix algebra first semester which I received a B- in. I’m on track to receive a D+ to C- for Linear algebra. I want to drop this class because no matter how hard I try, staying after school with the teacher, doing all the homework, etc, I can’t grasp the concepts to do well on the tests. Also, as a senior, dropping this class will make the rest of my year significantly more enjoyable as it’s my only source of stress. My other grades should keep constant at A’s and high B’s and I also take AP Statistics as a second math class. My other classes are also rather rigorous: AP Comparative, AP Macro/Micro, Cisco, AP Physics C, and AP Lang.

If I drop the class now, it wouldn’t show up on my final transcript but they would see only six classes being taken for my second semester. My school has limited options at this point of the year so after dropping linear algebra, I would most likely take a free period or become some sort of student assistant. I wanted to get some thoughts on this idea and if it would put me at risk of being rescinded.
