Hey. I just sent in my deposit to go to Georgetown next year. As far as I know , I'll be perfectly happy there and I know its a really good school. But my grades for second semester have dropped. Nowhere near enough to get rescinded, (Straight A's to A-'s and B+'s), but still a slight drop. What if I want to transfer to an even more elite school like Princeton or something after a couple of years? Will transfer admissions people see these grades? Will they hurt my chances?

As long as you get a high gpa at Georgetown ie 3.6+ you will have as good as of a shot as anyone else whose applying as a transfer.

PS Princeton doesn't accept transfer students at all. So it wouldn't even make your list of schools to transfer into. Georgetown is pretty elite, your chances at getting into schools more elite than Georgetown, ie HYSetc are going to be as hard as admissions for freshmans if not harder(just because they dont accept as many students as they do with freshman). I think you just need to attend Georgetown for a good year, and if you actually have a valid reason for transfering other than needing to be at an IVY, then consider it. Otherwise be happy with Georgetown. Georgetown is not to shabby.
