<p>I was just looking at the University of Maryland, and they appear to have some outstanding piano faculty, as well as a great academic program. I was wondering if U Maryland gives its students the option to dual degree between schools, i.e., a major in music performance, and a major in, say, applied mathematics.</p>
<p>Could you guys tell me if such a program exists at U Maryland? If so, details would be nice...</p>

<p>My kid looked at Maryland and, yes, students can earn dual degrees or double majors (not the same thing) but it wasn’t something we looked into. The one thing we noticed is that Maryland has a lot of general requirements for the performance degree so I suspect a double major would take additional semesters to complete. </p>
