Dual Enrollment

Okay, here's the deal:

I am taking classes at Bevill State Community College this summer and probably next year as a senior. I will be getting at least 6 credit hours this summer (2 classes). If I end up with 12 credits before I graduate, I will be a transfer student. My GC told me to think carefully before I made any decisions. It is possible for me to get 24 hours-- should I do it, or stick to nine?

Transfer student where?

And crap, if 12 credits makes me a transfer, I'm screwed :(

I'm most likely going to the University of Alabama.

Get the 24 hours. You may be able to waive a pile of freshman year classes and take what you really want, or even get a head start on the major at 'Bama and get out early.

is it bad to be a transfer? .?

No, unless the standard to gain admission is higher, and hence more difficult.

Okay, thanks. Now, I've heard that transfer scholarships suck... will my ACT score still help me get a good one?

Possibly. It seems that ACT scores are still counted for Transfers. Besides, a JC Honors Scholarship will pay full tuition.

Thank you!

bumpitty bump bump, bumpitty bum bump, look at Frosty go...

So, if i have 38 college units and apply to top colleges, I would be viewed as a transfer?

i would think so.

woah.

i was thinking of taking extra college classes to boost my gpa. But i guess it would work against me now?

I have no idea-- Check with your GC, different schools have different policies.
