^ i thought the total acceptance rate is supposed to be around 20%

if you look at EA only, yeah. But when you add on the 15% of the remaining pool that get accepted RD, it comes out to like 32-33%.

Omg k_sulli, I think the same admissions officer wrote our cards!

@runninglove: really? oh cuz on publications like the USNews and Princeton Review etc, it says 20%…I thought that was overall admissions lol

@oceanangel: I don’t know how they’re doing their math, but they might just be looking at EA alone. Whatever, it’s not a big deal. You for sure going to georgetown?

i got mine and it talked about specific things like my essay! such a classy touch

~20% is the right number (though it was 18% last year and probably going to be 19% ish this year, depending on how many they accept and expected yield etc)

You need to check your math, Gtown hasn’t accepted 30%+ in ages…

i got mine today (ny). there was a note about how admissions was impressed by my research (i sent in an abstract along with my application). really made me feel great. :-D

Sophomore12 - Approximately 18-20 % will get admitted EA, but another 12ish% of deferred applicants will get in during RD, so the eventual acceptance rate for EA applicants will be closer to 30-32%

I didn’t do that math, but the logic makes sense. I thought you were referring to overall acceptance rate is 30%+.

Thickfreakness is correct. Early action gets 2 shots at being admitted, so the true acceptance rate for EA students is actually much higher than they admit…i.e more like 30%.

^ same with sophomore 12, i thought you were talking about the overall rate lol
