@jaysker11 I heard somewhere that Duke does things by region? Like there’s NC, then West, Midwest, etc?

I think DUKE ED’ers are the best ED’ers =)

^^^ agreed. flat out.

wait so everyone will find out december 15th at 6 pm???

uhmmm is anyone else not going be able to function properly at school??
and what do they expect me to do with myself after school as i apprehensively wait until then?!!??!

no matter what day it is, if it is at 6pm, it will be during my basketball practice (cause its from 5:30-7:30). ill have to wait all practice until im home at like 8…

anybody thing that most of the 2200 people will log on at the same time and overload the server?

the server wont overload. it has to deal with around over 25,000 applicants in late march for reg decision, so 2,300 wont be a problem

@ballinallday…true dat homie.

we should all AIM when the decisions come out…i know a few other CCers do that.

@duke2015: why dec. 15th? they havent sent the email out yet…

@coIIege. That’s a good idea, we should set up a chat and discuss decisions lol.

ill go first then…aim is: cjswimmer975

The server may actually overload. When my sister was waiting to hear from Cornell ED a few years ago, the server crashed, and she didn’t find out until a few days later. The server crashing is unfortunately is a significant possibility, based on anecdotal evidence.

We should make a Facebook group for those that get accepted, so we can all start to get to know our future classmates.

Man I hope I get to join that group :)

I hope you get in too NCBoy1…i hope we all do hahah

I just keep thinking that acceptance/rejection from Duke denotes whether or not I spent my entire Christmas break frantically writing 10+ college essays and freaking out or doing nothing but enjoying life, gaming, reading, and feeling complacent. Not fun to think about… Also the whole 2nd semester would be SO much less stressful if you’re done with college admissions…

hopefully only 4 more days to freak out… i just like everyone realllly want the decision to come out on the 9th, and if it does, imagine the relief… i just want to definitely have a date set in stone on the decision day so if ANYONE can define that first, please let us all know…

Woop woop Durham is a brainy city! Lol

i know this isnt a “chance thread” but i just wanna give a quick overview of myself to see what others think:
SAT: 2120 (CR 620 M 780 WR 720)
SATII: Math II 690 Chemistry 730
GPA: Top 10% of my class (class size: 370) = 96.75
Assume Extra Curriculars, Essays, and Recommendations are very very good (not to toot my own horn)
Class Rigor is as hard as can be (graduating w/ 12 APs)

Thoughts?? thanks…

^ I would say that if essays, reccs, and EC’s are as good as you describe them as they will make up for (what I see as) weak-ish standardized testing.

so you think they’d make up for testing… as in likely to get in? (if they are as i describe)
