what is my chance of getting one next year?
stats are located here http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/showthread.php?t=291880&page=17

Has anyone gotten their visit details yet? The likely letter said that we'd get them by mid-March--specifically, whether we were invited to be scholarship finalists or not.

I still haven't gotten anything. I'm betting the information will arrive around March 12.

I just got a likely letter today.

Wow, that's really late. What was the postmark date?

mabye its another batch!!

Well, someone PMed me a while back who has a son at Duke and said that he didn't get his likely letter/scholarship info until early March. So I think it's probably safe to say they send them out in waves, especially since these were postmarked Feb. 28. So don't give up hope yet, guys :)

That makes sense because they get loads of applications and couldn't possibly read them all at once

This should be the last batch - I remember the RSVP date was around March 10 for the campus visit in my year, so all of the letters probably have to arrive by early next week.

The letter had a date of Feb. 26, it was postmarked on Feb. 28, and arrived on March 3rd.

Where do you live Knightshield? Congrats to you! Wish I had such a letter, but alas............

Minnesota. The letter was probably delayed by the two and half feet of snow that fell on Thursday/Friday, but it was still postmarked only a few days ago.

powderpuff> Didn't you get one of those Robertson emails? I thought that meant you were likely in as well.

mahras2,
Yes, I did get a Robertson e-mail. I applied to both UNC and Duke. I have already been accepted into the Honors Program at Carolina, and was thinking that the Robertson invite was from a Duke perspective. When I got the e-mail, I prematurely assumed it was for Duke, but I was wrong. I have a phone interview for the Robertson Scholarship in the morning, but only from a UNC point of view. That's cool though, I really connect with UNC, but I like Duke too!
But, to get to your point, when one gets the Robertson invite, it says something to the effect that one has been accepted into that school. In my case, it is only from a UNC perspective, not Duke.
My status with Duke is still pending.

"Your selection as a semi-finalist for the Robertson Scholars Program
means, of course, that you have been accepted to UNC-Chapel Hill,
provided that you maintain high standards of academic performance and personal
behavior."
I copied and pasted the exact words from the e-mail. I'm not seeing anything there to indicate that this is somehow a likely letter from Duke. I would be thrilled to think that I was in at both, but I think that would be premature.

Oh ok. But I am pretty sure that anyone who is able to snag a robertson semi at UNC stands more than a fighting chance at Duke :).

Thank you for your kind remarks; I'll just have to wait and see.

I just got a likely letter in the mail. I'm really excited for Duke Up Close! =D

did any internationals who still live in their native countries get likely letters?

are we finished with likely letters?
