@elay1202 most internationals actually take a gap year. We get off high school then stay home to prep for these appsā¦ Gap years are great in shaping your perspective of adulthood in my opinion so in case you have to take one, enjoy it. Gain more employment experience maybe?..but youāll get in. Just keep ya hopes up.

Good luck everyone on decisions. @anicole45 if the letter was sent to applicants who they were going to reject, it would be the opposite of a likely letter ā an unlikely letter. Duke would never do anything like that. My son got the same caution about opening it alone last year when he got in ED. Theyāre only trying to help you keep your decision private. Hang in there, the decision is almost here

Keep in mind, the letter also said if you wish to share the decision letter online (which most would only do if it was an acceptance) to block personal info. So, the message goes both ways in my opinion.
I got the letter for early decision, then a deferral to regular decision, but they did not send me a second letter announcing decisions next week. I tried to do what the letter suggestedā¦move onā¦seriously consider my other options. Iām interested to know the results, but I do not care about their answer as much now, happy with my actual choices. I figure if my ābestā chance was with early decision, considering not much has changed, the answer will likely be no thanks. Who knows? And I think Duke might write an āunlikelyā letter!
