@neonpinklime Thank you for your help. I think the plan is to just go home and sleep or do something to take my mid off of the impending decision.
If I may make one suggestion…If you’re checking the decision on a laptop, be seated while doing it…my D checked it while standing a couple of years ago and got so excited she threw the laptop up in the air…luckily it landed on the couch.
I’m sick and I can’t even tell if it’s real or just nervousness. I have a headache, cough, sore throat, dizziness… I’m thinking about going home too
I had to stay home yesterday bc I was gettin so anxious
I stayed home today because I woke up crying from the anxiety I was getting.
I tried to go to school bc I have my hard classes today… ended up passing out just before the bell rang and going home
Calm down everybody. You all have done the work to have a chance at being admitted. That is all you can control. The admission decision is very subjective, and many qualified students will not be admitted. I told my daughter not to put all of her hope into Duke, that she will have multiple top colleges to chose from come April 1st. If you are a candidate for Duke admission, you will have other great options.
Here’s the Duke Today article. https://today.duke.edu/2017/12/duke-accepts-875-early-decision-applicants. ED admit rate 21%
Here’s an article from Duke Chronicle http://www.dukechronicle.com/article/2017/12/171214-reports-early-decision This is interesting, “Last year, 3,516 students applied early, and 813 were admitted—an acceptance rate of 24.5 percent. The early decision acceptance rates for the Class of 2020 and Class of 2019 were 23.5 percent and 26 percent, respectively.”
4 hours y’all!!!
today I will be a blue devil or not or maybe. compared to my dad having cancer this seems so much less important but yet I want it anyway
Good luck to everyone from the Yale SCEA thread!!!
NC was the most represented state, which calms me a little bit as North Carolinian
Also, 40% of those admitted were students of color which make me a bit happier since I am a Nigerian American
Does Cuban count as a student of color??
@OutForBlood Yes
less than 3 hours
@neeeeeeeeeee you’ll find out soon – we are not the admissions committee, so we have no idea.
I cannot wait any longer. I am way too nervous. My heart has been beating so fast the whole day, and I was not able to focus on my important physics final today.
same I’m so nervous. Wasn’t able to focus on anything today. Like I’m in class still and can’t focus still
