I want to do another rec but tbh I don’t understand how to submit it
@whyamilikethis Duke will probably send an email about it later, but I’m guessing the recommender will probably send it directly to the admissions office on behalf of you, or maybe Duke has a platform for them to.
@Pastpower I am not sure what my teachers wrote in their recs, but my peer one really focuses on how I treat my peers and friends, describing me as outgoing, inclusive, etc. Not sure if that was conveyed anywhere else on my application, but still unsure how necessary it is. Maybe they will hear it though my voice in my essays.
Did anyone hear from Robertson yet?
DD just received an e-mail from College Board requesting additional financial info from Duke. So she filled out the forms, scanned them, then uploaded in IDOC. Did anyone else get a similar request?
@becky7700 I heard back today
Hope it was good news! If so, did your letter indicate which school you were being considered for?
Hey. Does anyone know when the Robertson finalists will be announced?
Robertson semi-finalists were sent emails a couple of days ago, and told to set up a Skype interview no later than Monday the 19th. However, someone called and said the Robertson people said they’re reasing notifications on a rolling basis-- not quite sure how true this is. There’s more information on the UNC Robertson Scholars thread.
Any fellow Duke Applicants received IDOC Requests? And, if you were an ED applicant, were you accepted, denied, or deferred?
I am curious to know too.
Any tips for the Robertson semifinalist Skype interview?? And is it likely I will be accepted into Duke because I received a semifinalist notification?
Thank you,

As a general rule (not saying there aren’t exceptions, though I know of none), finalists for big scholarships whereby you advance to the interview stage, are always accepted (unless you have a disastrous final semester, lied on your application and they find out, or you had/have a a criminal conviction).
Are all applicants automatically considered for the Robertson scholarship, or is this a separate application? We didn’t know about this scholarship until recently. I guess the deadline has passed?
@ivyforest it’s a separate application.
@ivyforest It was a really intensive and long separate application. Pretty sure it was due December 1, maybe earlier.
@ivyforest Actually, Duke claims to screen all of its applicants for the Robertson. Essentially, if they encounter a particularly outstanding applicant whose values and experience resonate with those of the Robertson, the Duke admissions committee can ask the Robertson committee to consider that applicant as a semifinalist. But, it is very, very rare. Approximately 2% (forget where I read it, let’s do ± 1%) applicants to the Robertson who used the dedicated application became semifinalists. I’m sure the proportion of applicants who didn’t fill out the application and are chosen as semifinalists is far, far, smaller. Still, it happens, so don’t lose hope.

Did anyone else’s FA said that they didn’t do the Parent W2 and Parent Federal Tax Return? I submitted it through IDOC along with the CSS, but now the portal says they don’t have it… Now I’m kinda worried because the deadline for financial aid stuff was yesterday. Does anyone else have this problem???
@person2000 same thing happened to me. i submitted everything though.
@person2000 if you uploaded it, it will, eventually, be reflected as submitted. Regardless of the deadline, if you submitted it prior to the deadline, you are ok. In fact, the overwhelming majority of heavily endowed schools will not reduce a financial award if documents are submitted subsequent the deadline. Some schools DO penalize late and/or incomplete financial aid applications, such as U of Richmond, but schools with super endowments, like Duke, usually do not.
