Duke Early Decision Roster

Wait--
So when will the letter come? Before the 15th?

If Im not mistaken, the letters are sent out on the tenth, so if you live anywhere east of the mississippi, it should take only about 2-3 days hopefully.

The 10th is a friday, so we would get them on Monday? Hmmm... Not a bad way to start off the week, if your lucky!!

an insanely depressing way to start of the week for me if im not lucky, It's finals week here in Georgia.

Whatever happens though, good luck to everyone. Also, check out my thread "I just wanted to hear everyone's thoughts". I want to see what you think about my theory about us CC-addicted kids.

Yesss...finals week for us here in NC too. Fortunately I'm exempting, so I could potentially find out on my last day of 1st semester...scary. My christmas break could be amazing or very, very bad (and full of college essays that need revision!)

I don't think i'll make it through mid-terms if I don't get in. Hopefully i'll find out by that Monday becuase I live in Raleigh...

At least you live close to Duke. Being in PA instead of NC is worse.

Yeah...that's true. I remember it took about 2 business days for my packet of recs and whatnot to get there, so I'm thinking I'll find out right around the 15th.

I would think that a North Carolinian would hear very quickly, I would say Monday the 13th for you.

I work mondays...right after school...guess I'm going to be late that day. I'll have to get to the mail before the mother.

I'm kind of glad that the letters are supposed to arrive before the online decisions... seeing my decision online seems somewhat fake

That's EXACTLY how I feel. So anti-climactic. "How did you find out you got into your dream school?" "The URL said 'admit'"

haha... yep

i dont know... i am just kinda assuming that i will be rejected/deferred... i have already completed/sent in 5 other applications

i have no chance, and its ok!

don't give up man and gl every1

im trying to keep a little bit of hope... but the thing i have to wonder about is... if i dont get in, what kind of people do? I know for a fact that if i had gone to an elite private school i would have a transcript 50x better than what i have now... I was not challenged in high schoool.. and for the most part have learned nothing because the teachers are so easy =\ i mean come on, 100 in calculus BC? and then a 4 on the ap test? nobody else in my school got a 4 or 5, 2 or 3 people got 3's, and the majority got ones... my school's ap score average was like 1.6 combined for every test/every person... Do you guys think college's take that into account? my counselor did mention the fact that i was the only person with a 4 on BC

i guess thats what i get for being in a public school in rural virginia... =</p>

stop getting all desperate and depressed! everything works out, trust me. duke wasn't my flat out first choice at first but now i can't imagine being anywhere else. and that's not to say you won't get in, your record is strong.
as for not being challenged, that's not really an excuse for a poor transcript. I understand what you're saying, i feel that i could've done better at a private high school too. but they expect you to challenge yourself (take community college classes, do research outside of school, etc.) if your school doesn't do it for you. there's no use regretting it now.

yea screw community college, i am taking physics at uva lol......... my transcript isnt BAD ... its not pratt good tho

screw it lol w/e happens does.. cant change it now
