Duke Early Decision Roster

I meant crazy as in it would take the mail system five days to send a packet within a state. I love georgia tech's campus. But Duke is better!

obviously... lol duke is an amazing place!

Really?

I thought Tech's campus was very "blah." It was a bit scattered (granted, it's in Atlanta!), and the red brick really did nothing for me. It's a fantabulous engineering school, though. #4/#5 nationally, if I'm not mistaken.

My sister went there, though. So I guess I should probably keep my mouth shut!

:X

I truly expected GA Tech's campus to be "blah" and I am not a big fan of Atlanta, but I was very impressed with the facilities and the enthusiastic tour guides and info sessions when we visited (BTW, I'm Cameron Crazy's Mom). I'm a Duke alum and very partial to my alma mater, but have encouraged both of my kids to explore. (Daughter is at Wake Forest - she just didn't get "the feeling" when we visited Duke).

have u been involved with duke since you graduated? it will help your son a bunch if you have

Been involved with Duke as much as I can - I'm a regular alumni donor (nothing like a building named after me ;-), but I do get recognized in the alumni magazine. I've done a few alumni interviews and appreciate what Duke has given me. My PhD is from NC State, but I truly believe that my Duke degree has opened many doors for me in my career.

We attend as many "local" (Madison Square Garden, Meadowlands Continental Arena) Duke basketball games as possible, does that count?

i dont know about basketball... but being a donor and doing interviews will definately help his chances. he is pretty comperable to me.. except he has the alum thing going for him haha.. high rank, decent test scores.

Just kidding about the basketball - it's become a "tradition" for my father (who loves Duke), me and "Cam Crazy" to attend Duke basketball games whenever we have the opportunity - no luck in getting tickets to games in Cameron...

I've already told "Cam" that I expect to meet you in August on East Campus when y'all move in.

Isn't great to have a mom that likes to talk about college? Haha, oh well. Its good to have encouragement every once in a while. I just wish the time would fly faster. Every tick of the clock seems to slow down!

whoa we have like a week! i'll be glad to meet him, b/c that would mean that we both got in :) cam crazy, what major you looking into?

I was thinking of Mechanical Engineering. Later, if I decide to go to graduate school, which I'm 95% sure I do, I want to go into Aerospace Engineering. How about you?

cameron crazy, its been a while since they went to Iowa State, probably like six years or so, but they didn't win anything at world finals. She is now a senior at Notre Dame.

i would major in mechanical, probably, if i went to duke :)

now we have 4 of the 220 pratt ED'ers hehe

I think the Duke app said that 21% of the apps for duke come from the middle atlantic states. That means, if we follow this idea, that 46 people are applying to Duke from the mid-atlantic states, and are applying ED to Pratt, so we have a good showing in this forum, assuming that NYYbaseball99 is from new york

i'm from new jersey...(bring on the bon jovi jokes)

haha, thats still mid-atlantic. You seem to get lots of insults since your so ready for them! I don't think this a very insulting forum. Haha

We're nice people over here in the Duke ED Roster:) Although my 4th block tends to break out the NJ jokes often...
