Why is the amount of people applying ED going up so much at all these top schools? Are people becoming more aware of the selectivity of the RD round and thus more willing to commit to a binding agreement? Idk about y’all, but this certainly wasn’t the only school I was considering EDing to.
I don’t know about the other schools, but there’s certainly an element to Duke now superscoring the ACT. Aside from Duke becoming just a more appealing school in general, superscoring the ACT lures more students into thinking that they’re in the range of scores, thus have more confidence in the admissions process.
apparently if your parents ed agreement is not downloaded and is only submitted you aren’t in
^ this is not true. obviously. stop trying to read into stuff so much. we will get the decision when we get it
it has been proven too. people who got into their ed school have had it just “submitted” after getting in.
you guys are right I am just very paranoid.patience is not a virtue I possess but I’m trying to just relax. good luck to everyone!
good luck to you too!
Please don’t post false information like “jquery.Deferred” and “parent ed agreement” cuz they give people anxiety. Digging into stuff to find out your ed result early is worthless. I wish you all the best of luck and please stop worrying until 13th or 15th. We need to have confidence that we will be able to create hashtag #Duke2023 for our instagram posts!
whoa!! mine says accepted!!!
Just kidding… guys this is so obviously fake it’s literally just a line of code that has nothing to do with college admissions. Duke won’t be stupid enough to have our decisions be so easily found. we’ll all find out sooner or later! and best of luck to everyone in this thread
Hey guys! Hope everybody is doing well! I heard from somebody that sometimes they release decisions a couple days early even though the official date is dec 15. Has anybody else heard this or is that just me?
i read somewhere that it usually comes out on the night of the 13th or 14th from previous years but im unsure about the legitimacy… fingers crossed!
I looked back at the ED release dates and thought you all might be interested:
2017 - Class of 2022 - Thursday, 12/14
2016 - Class of 2021 - Wednesday, 12/14
2015 - Class of 2020 - Thursday, 12/10
2014 - Class of 2019 - Thursday, 12/11
2013 - Class of 2018 - Thursday, 12/12
2012 - Class of 2017 - Thursday, 12/13
The date is typically released by email to the applicants about a week before the decisions are posted.
Based on this history, I would guess the decisions will be released on Thursday, 12/13 at 7pm.
I hope this information helps everyone to relax rather than causing more anxiety!
@QQQBoutique literally want to get into duke so my bio can say “duke 2023” lets hope
@mwolpert27 duke doesn’t really superscore the ACT, though, do they? They look at the highest single sitting composite score and highest overall sub score from each section? Ik the portal displays a superscored ACT, but that’s not really how they evaluate it. Tbh I bet they factor superscored ACTs into their middle 50 (though it may not change the 33-35 range).
Yeah, Duke changed their ACT superscoring policy this year. What you just mentioned, that was their old policy, though now they calculate the overall composite.
@sanjanagupta1 I hope you didn’t put that in your why duke essay lol @mwolpert27 hm I hope there’s an added little boost for only submitting one sitting.
There is a boost actually, at least in my opinion. I believe it looks better to score in the top 1% without having to take it twice.
@mwolpert27 I accidentally sent them all three of mine when I took them, but only reported my 35 on the common app. Hopefully they only used the official sends as confirmation and count my single sitting 35.
Is the parent ed agreement thing true??? Mine only says submitted…
