Duke vs. Upenn

What do you think is more prestigious, Duke or Dartmouth?

read your topic line... then read ur matter... then think about it, make up your mind and post back

lol, that was pretty funny. I'd say they are all equally pretigious, but they have different strengths so it depends what you're majoring in.

oh i meant Dartmouth vs. UPENN

i'd say UPENN

in my opinion, Penn over Dartmouth...but they are about equal.

Dartmouth honestly. People over 25 still think Penn is a safety.

Dartmouth has had higher SATs and lower acceptance rate than Penn for each of the last 50 years.

whatever. UPENN UPENN UPENN.

Upenn. Upenn. Upenn

Duke = Penn
Dartmouth

All awesome though :)

Dartmouth beats Penn soundly in these two studies and historically has been ahead in USN&WR as well.

<a href="http://www.brody.com/college/resources/college_rankings.php%5B/url%5D">http://www.brody.com/college/resources/college_rankings.php</a></p>

The thing is different people will feel differently. Dartmouth excels in certain institutional areas that are very relevant to undergrad. It has top 7 grad placement, higher selectivity, a stronger alumni base, arguably better teaching, more money per student, etc, etc vs. Duke and Penn. Dartmouth seems to have a longer lasting reputation, which helps when applying for jobs and when in the workforce. On the other hand, Penn and Duke have stronger graduate programs so chemists in India or Taiwan are much more likely to know those two. The truth is it depends who you are talking to and where. Just look at the Dartmouth vs. Brown vs. Duke thread on college admissions, there is no consensus.

The bottom line is:

Penn=Dartmouth=Duke=Brown=Columbia=Amherst=Williams

Choose between these based on personal needs and "fit."
