Ok I know this is a dumb question, but I'm giving teachers envelopes for recs (9 x 12). They will put in 3 to 4 pages. This = ? 37 cent stamps?

The minimum postage for large envelopes like 9x12 is 60 cents for the first ouce, then 23 cents for each additional once.

Four to five sheets of paper inside a 9x12 envelope should be 60 cents postage.

Don't you also have to add 11 cents for the size of the envelope? i am thinking I remember that from somewhere?? Are you putting a tracking tag on these.....the USPS has a tracking on line tag which you can get and then you will know when and how and where. I highly recommend it, not too expensive and who wants to have the college tell you they cannot find the recs???? NOt me.

the tracking tag is called delivery confirmation for further reference

On the USPS website, it says $.49 for a Large envelope weighing more than 1oz. It's $.12 more if it weighs less than 1oz.

Do teacher recs have to have the 9 x 12 envelopes? I'm planning on using the regular business envelopes.

Some places (like Stanford and Columbia) specifically say not to fold the forms and to put them in 9x12 envelopes. Others don't care.

how come ur teacher put 4 to 5 pages?? mine just put the evaluation form and an additional letter they wrote...2 in total
