E-Mails from Top Schools

Today I logged into my e-mail and checked the junk file for once. In the last three days, I recieved e-mails from Dartmouth, U Penn, and Northwestern. The e-mails invited me to join their e-mail lists. I know it doesn't guarentee anything, but do these e-mails mean I have a good shot at these schools?

No. Top schools send emails to everyone with the intention of getting as many people as possible to apply. The more people that I apply, the lower their acceptance percentage, meaning the higher the ranking. Those emails honestly don’t mean anything.

Thanks @EdwardWitten.

Schools will buy the contact info of brackets of PSAT scores from Collegeboard-- you’ll most likely receive both a lot of email and a lot of paper mail shortly, if you haven’t already.
