I've already applied to several schools before hearing my decision, and I'm going to leave the applications alone to see if I can leave myself some options come March and financial aid looks gloomy. MIT is #1 though. How about you?

already submitted a few apps which were due before i found out, and am sending common app to a couple more schools. why? i'm pretty much done anyway. and considering how much time i spent on those damned essays, i may as well. :p right?

i'm not applying anywhere else.

I'm not applying anywhere else either. I'm so glad that I got admitted EA so that I don't have to do more applications.

i didn't apply anywhere else and thank god that i didn't even send part 1s out so that i saved like 500 dollars in application/college board fees! ... tru im waiting to hear from finanacial aid but ive always said that for mit i would go into debt for an extra 10 years

stanford, harvard, berkeley (im going to withdraw and drop my independent study art course), caltech (i already paid)

I sent in a couple part ones already, and I guess they'll get to keep their fees. I'm withdrawing them. :)

yea, I withdrew chicago and brown already. I'm keeping columbia, yale, and rice - only have columbia to finish up, all three have been paid.

Stanford (fee paid) and Harvard, Yale, Northwestern (everything except my part and the fee is in... and if I got into those schools I might consider them, expecially since Harvard's FA will probably be better than MIT's...).

not a chance, i am so done wit college apps....MIT was my number one choice anyways

the only one i'm dropping is yale because that's the only one i haven't paid for. i've already paid the fees and written most of the essays for the other ones. since i spent all that time and money on it, i might as well as see what happens... besides, UCs and rice (ID) were due before i heard from MIT.

I already sent off Harvard and Stanford app. But I'm going to rescind the Harvard b/c my friend got deferred. The other ones I didn't complete and I'm not starting :)

Hmm.. I'm wondering why nearly everyone who applies to MIT also applies to Harvard...

I'm not. I have my reasons.

Hey.... I met that dude who unlocks his dorm room with a thumbprint scanner!! He's really cool, and insanely nerdy.

hahhahhah that's the way we like 'em best.

wait a sec... wrong thread, but the post stays....

ahh I'm applying to about 5 other schools.. not really because I want to, more so because I already paid. And to answer why everyone that applies to MIT applies to harvard, its because we figure that if MIT rejects us, we might be able to go to harvard and then just cross register for all our courses at MIT. :-P

Haha, you're exactly right frankenchris :)

lol, except many of these children are lucky enough to have already been accepted into mit ;)

I'm also applying to Harvard, Princeton, and Stanford because the latter two also are great schools and that silly liberal arts college because my parents want me to go there.
