why do you think notre dame was sent already? i thought someone said they are being sent tomorrow?

Well i got a little ahead of myself, i meant they are on their way to be sent out i guess. Sorry. Im freaking out about hearing from Georgetown tomorrow so Im probably not making too much sense.

also applied to ND and Georgetown, how do you know Georgetown is tomorrow?

Yea i applied to both ND and Georgetown and i thought we got them both monday

On the Georgetown forum someone said they called admissions and that they sent them out yesterday. I am about a 2 day postal trip away from DC. So I suspect that I will get it tomorrow or Friday.

Is it the 15th for EA?

I see all of the posts here for the EA applicants but paying the $50K/year for ND in these very tough times will not be possible for most people, even with the aid offered by ND. (my company is laying off people tomorrow, we attend meetings to see who is getting layed off at 10:30am). I just hope all the kids posting here have a state school as a back-up and should be a little sympathetic to their parent's situation.

With the aid offerred by ND , the EFC (expeted family contribution) will still entail that students graduate with $40K to $50K of debt. If you have a $50K debt when you graduate, this mean $555/month for 10 years (using 6% interest)!

ND is also admitting to a big drop in donations and their endowment.

Let's hope the tuition does not rise too much for those of us already there! I know it will go up for next year; it always does. Wish ND had a program like George Washington University. It allows their students to lock in tuition rates their freshman year!! It will also be curious to see how overloaded the dorms will be--when son entered as a freshman in Fall of '06, ND had over-admitted. Students were overflowing out of the dorms. At any rate, I think all colleges (privates, at least) are going to see some interesting numbers. I also think that state Universities are going to be flooded with applicants and will quite possibly be overflowing!! These are tough times for everyone--hope the economy can somehow turn around...

Good Luck to all applying EA! The time will fly by if and when you are admitted! Enjoy the possibilities of your decisions. Best of Luck to all!!

Any news on if EA letters have been mailed out yet?

Given their aid, ND may well be a more affordable option than a state school. Illinois(which I'm pretty sure has the largest number of students attending ND of any state) is in such dire financial straits that it was half the cost for me to attend ND as compared to the U of I. Obviously everyone's situation is different, but the state schools are suffering from a drop in funding without a big endowment like ND's to back them up.

ND sends out the letters on Monday. I called yesterday

Well at least we KNOW when decisions will come now. Sheesh.

Are we certain it's Monday? I'd heard it was thursday or friday of this week. If they say "around 12/15" but to call if you haven't heard by 12/18 (so there's probably a problem), it seems like if you live far away from ND its not guaranteed you'll get it by 12/18...

justt goot in!!!!:D
although im international so i was sent an email..and my email said that the letters were sent yesterday..

Since decisions are beginning to come in, perhaps someone could make the official decisions thread?
Im anxious to know the stats of people who have been accepted-this is all making me so nervous.

hey, called ND and I was wrong. They actually sent the letters out yesterday! yikes..

I live in CT. You guys think I might hear back tomorrow...

Word, I live in VT, which is bascially CT, so we'll probably hear about the same time.

I think people on the east coast will be hearing back on Monday. I live near Philadelphia and we are a 3 day postal trip away from south bend. So good luck to everyone!
