<p>This is a note that comes up when you log in to work on your application to apply online. I also got the email.</p>
<p>I submitted it on October 29. I was finished then, and while an extended deadline is nice, I did not need it.</p>
<p>This is good news - still have to do the short essay!</p>

<p>that's lame - if you really wanted to go and apply early you should have gotten your application in on time</p>
<p>... Having a few extra days to finish things up and do last minute revisions doesn't mean you're "lame" or that you don't want to go there. It just means you're glad to have a little extra time.</p>
<p>...Or you could say if you really wanted to go there you'd want all the time possible to perfect your essays/application as a whole.</p>

<p>Its called senior year. People have a life. People do stuff over the summer (and Im not talking about partying)...people might not have time to work on their apps. Just because someone didnt finish on time doesnt mean much in terms of how "lame" they are. and really, its early action, I can understand if its early decision then its much more important.</p>

<p>Oh really? That's funny how you think you can make such generalizations about people just because you're bitter you sent yours in before the deadline and now everyone else has more time.</p>
<p>I would have had everything in before the deadline, anyway. But it was nice to have an extra day or two to go over my essays one last time and make sure I was absolutely certain that I loved them.</p>
<p>I think it might have had to do with servers crashing at 11:59 PM. :P Happened during morehead scholarship too</p>
<p>If the deadline was the 1st, I would have finished and sent it in by the 1st, just barely, but I would have... I had SO many projects and tests etc due on the 1st (evil, evil teachers!) though, so to have a few more days and the ability to focus on my assignments was nice.</p>
<p>I think they had more trouble this weekend. My son was doing the credit card payment on Saturday night and it was taking forever. The online credit card website is showing a $70.00 hold but UNC sent an email that the payment was not received.</p>
<p>Everything worked fine last night for me. Not especially slow and no problems.</p>
