AHHH i want to hear so bad, i'm freaking out. Where do you live jmp828

I was accepted today!!! In PA, just outside of Philadelphia

Postmarked 12/12!! :-D

In CT my D got the acceptance today into Broadcast Journalism. Has anyone gotten any merit $$? How does it work with Emerson? Does it come with acceptance letter or after? Ihaca's came with the acceptance.

Got mine today! Media Studies just outside Philadelphia.

I got accepted! I think the merit money comes after all decisions (including regular decisions) are made, no? Anyway, I live in CT and I got into the Print & Multimedia Journalism program, my first choice.

oh noooessss in CT still no letetr

NLMP13,
We waited for about 4 months to hear the status of of any merit or other $$ from Emerson. I don't want to be a dark cloud raining on your parade, but Emerson is not to generous with the scholarships. Neither my daughter or her very close friend got anything, and they were both great students.
Emerson was voted #2 on Princeton Review for students disatisfied with their financial aid.
My daughter's suitemate from last year was the ONLY person she knew that got merit ( and she left Emerson this yr )
I hope your situation is better than ours, but we were, along with her friend's parents were shocked that they got no offers with their stats.

has anyone not gotten in/not heard back

BasMatt, My daughter in CT still hasn't heard back. I would imagine all the letters, good and bad, go out at the same time. Patience and good luck!

BassMatt, I'm still waiting and freaking out. After I heard the letters were mailed on 12/12 the last two days were absolutley painful for me. I'm hoping I'll hear tommorow, if not, monday (waiting through sunday would kill me!). I'm all the way out in Wisconsin so I'm not surprised I haven't heard yet. Emerson is my first (and virtually only) choice so I've been in a constant state of panic the last 44 days.

Just got accepted today. Postmarked 12/12, Marketing Communication

Emerson's not my first choice but hey it's up there! So glad to have gotten my very first acceptance letter!

I'm in Texas and I'm still waiting for the letter! I'm freaking out! :(

My d is a freshman Marketing Communications major at Emerson and she absolutely LOVES it. Thinks the classes and professors are incredible. She loves the dorm and life in the city.

Oh, also, did anyone find out if they'd been accepted into the honors program as well?

I'm really nervous waiting for a decision. I thought I would get some letter today, but nothing came. My intended major is Journalism, so I'm just waiting it out. I'm hoping for at least to be deferred. I think I have a lot of qualifications for writing on the school paper and working on my school's yearbook the last four years, but I'm on the bubble with pretty much everything. My SAT scores were ho hum with the exception of the Writing section and my math grades don't make my transcript look all that great.

Hopefully I'll find out one way or another early next week.

Checked the mail every ten minutes today and the mail finally came but with no letter. I'm seriously doubting my ability to wait until monday. I wish there was some way I could find out earlier. I haven't been able to sleep or eat in two days, I'm dying waiting. I'm getting really worried that maybe they only sent acceptance letters (which is why I haven't heard of anyone not getting in) and that's why I haven't gotten my letter yet.

Got my acceptance letter to the WLP department today. Huge envelope.

My son was accepted to the Performing Arts department in Stage/Production Management.

DD got her acceptance letter today from school of Marketing and Communication. We're in MI.

My daughter got her letter today, but she was deferred until the regular admission process? What kind of nonsense is that?

Either tell us yes or tell us no, but don't give us a "maybe" and then keep us waiting until regular admission deadline?

How can my kid move forward? Should she wait? Should she accept her second and third choice schools where she was accepted early?

Is this really a cowardly way to say NO in a delayed way or do deferred students have a good chance of getting in?

Sometimes I think these colleges have no heart and don't think about what the kids go through. To me a "maybe" is worse than a "no".

Can anyone tell me about getting in after they were deferred?
