I suspect it was her class rigor. Even though she took mostly honors, she took no APs.
EC’s were very good, competitive dancer for several years, NHS, church volunteering, a couple of clubs. And she did visit campus and talked to an adcom at her school and both times followed up with nice emails, so the level of interest was there.

accepted, no scholarship. if i received any scholarship would i have been notified with my acceptance letter? or are there other scholarships that could come later?

Yetti – you would have received merit scholarship info with your acceptance, financial aid info will come out later.
Westie – while deferral are very disappointing when received, just keep reminding D it’s not a decline. Both NEU and PC want to see her profile again in comparison to the regular application pool – she may do very well in that round.
Best of luck to all as decision time rolls around

Little late to the board, but I found out before Christmas. Accepted with $8000 Friar Scholarship
2.96 GPA on 4 scale
top 50% of Class
300+ hours of community service
Several School/Diocesan/Archdiocesan Awards for Service
26/32 classes taken were Honors
Hoping to come here next year!

Two oldest children currently attend PC and have loved their experiences. Neither enjoyed Western Civ though and our oldest (senior) thought it would be more enjoyable to be able to use those credits towards other courses. Senior in HS deferred to RD and is disappointed.

@vineyard7 - I am surprised your high school child did not get admitted EA seeing he/she has siblings there. My D was deferred also and I was surprised because her stats fall right in the middle of the 50% of admitted students. Her gc told us the office got a note from them saying they were admitting less students at EA this year for various reasons, but deferred students should not lose hope. GC told D to let them know of their strong interest in PC and if the student feels that it is their number one choice they could let them know that they would commit if they were admitted RD. She said they would likely admit if a student were to do that.
