EA Tulane Class of 2016

woot can’t wait to get rejected :)

:’(

Did everyone who heard back apply single choice EA? Anyone hear back that applied regular EA?

I applied regular EA and got accepted yesterday. From Michigan

I applied regular EA as well.

Also, you guys will probably be getting your official letters soon. Mine came today and is dated yesterday.

ButaneVeins - did your letter include any info on merit scholarships?

Indeed, I’ve been offered the $17k merit scholarship.

would you mind sharing your stats. at least sat and/or act, gpa weighted/unweighted, anything else of importance

I have a 31 on the ACT and a 3.8 unweighted GPA. My school doesn’t weigh. I posted my stats over in the decisions thread. :)

Is 17k over 4 years and is it for in-state students only?

17k/year, 68k total. And no, anyone can get it. I think the merit scholarships go up to 24k.

Is there a specific formula based on GPA and sat/acts?

Not that I know of, you can search through the past threads though and read peoples’ stats from prior years.

There is no formula, and last year the “automatic consideration” merit scholarships went up to $25,000. IIRC, they were $7,500 (Leadership); $15,000 (Academic Achievement); $20,000 (Founder’s); $22,000 (Distinguished Scholar’s) and $25,000 (Presidential Scholar). I think I have the right association between the names and amounts given last year. Sounds like they have tweaked the amounts this year. What name did they call yours, butane? Was the the Academic Achievement Award for this year?

What I mean by “automatic consideration” is that all accepted students are considered for these awards. http://tulane.edu/financialaid/grants/</a> No extra application is needed. For the DHS and Community Service awards, and I think a couple of others, additional applications are required.

Indeed.

“I am delighted to inform you that the admission committee has selected you as a recipient of the Academic Achievement Award. Congratulations! As a recipient of this prestigious academic merit scholarship, you will receive $17,000 annually, totaling $68,000 over four years.”

Excellent!! Heartiest congratulations! Looks like they increased the amount of the awards this year. Interested to see what the others are.

Applied a few hours ago. ;)

Congrats Butane! Great news!

Congrats to the potential new Tulane family members!

Thanks you! I’m pretty excited! Haha.
